First off, the rules!
- Have fun and enjoy yourself!
-
Enjoy the game and have fun with the other players. Try to help them to have a good time too. This is why we 'flag. This is why we have rules.
Remember - It's a game.
- Rejoining
-
Rejoining, that is, the act of logging off and on again for strategic purposes, is a reason for being banned. The first offense can get you banned directly, normally for a shorter time, but consider yourself warned. This has been happening quite a bit, but let there be no doubt, it is not accepted on this server.
If you get kicked for lag or any other game-related issues, the server will let cops and admins know. If you have severe enough network issues that make you get kicked over and over again, please try to fix the problem before joining the game again.
- Language
-
The use of inappropriate language is in itself a reason for being banned. Yes, there is a filter active on the server, no that doesn't give you the argument of "awe, it was filtered, who cares?". Well, we do.
If you try and get around the filter by making a spelling mistake, you will still be punished as if you spelt it correctly.
Some swear words are not filtered, but are not allowed, and some words that are allowed, are filtered.
A lot of the people on our lists are banned for abusive language. If you don't like this policy, you're free to play elsewhere. We have players from the (known) age of 9 and up, so we try to keep it clean.
- Insulting
-
Don't insult people, whether it be idiot, stupid or something more foul, it is not allowed.
- Teamkilling
-
The server will autokick you if you kill enough teammates. But, the server will not ban you. Cops or admins on the other hand, will.
Ignorance isn't an excuse, as you get told pretty much what's going on when you commit the act. Warnings will usually be issued, but especially on a busy map, none may be given.
With an accidental teamkill, a small sorry goes a long way.
- Camping
-
The server does not have any specific rules about camping. Powerflags have limited shots on the server, which is good enough™ for the server.
A team with a few decent campers can do wonders for its score, hence it will happen. If such issues arise, get your team together to take down the campers, one by one. Think ahead, look at the board, talk to teammates.
Camping with Genocide at the enemy base may get you killed by a cop or admin, as it is extremely lame and pathetic. However, using other superflags to camp probably won't get you killed, but the other team might not be overly happy with you, even if you don't have a superflag.
We now have a world weapon at the enemy base when you capture the enemy's flag, so being there for a flag capture is almost useless, even if you do have shield
- No CTF on uneven teams
-
NEVER CTF when teams are uneven and one team has 5 or less players.
Don't CTF if both teams have more than 5 players and one of them has 2 or more players less than you. While you won't be banned for this, you may well be killed while attemping to CTF.
Under these circumstances, never pick up the team flag. If you have it, you must dop the team flag.
- Lag and Jit
-
Both lag and jit make you hard to kill, while the server will autokick you if you have over 300ms lag, do not continue playing. Attempt to fix your lag problem, if it doesn't go down, don't play. If you persist on playing you may be kicked by a cop or admin, if you still continue, you may be banned.
Jit, on the other hand, there is no set maximum value, if your told it's too much by a cop or admin, the same as lag applies - try and fix it. If you persist on playing after being told by a cop or admin you may be kicked, if you still continue, you may be banned.
- Becoming an admin, cop or trusted
-
We ask you. You don't ask us.
- Complaints about admins, cops or trusted
-
If you have a complaint about an admin, don't be afraid to /report it.
- Be nice!
-
Rules are rules. Their purpose is to make us all enjoy what we're doing. Literally following the rules doesn't mean you're being nice out there. You can be banned for intent, not always for breaking the rules.
